Hugo Nieuwenhuyse

Hugo advises clients on technology, intellectual property, data protection and commercial law matters. He supports them throughout the development of their businesses and represents them in litigation before the Belgian courts.

He holds a Master’s degree in Law from UCLouvain (2019) and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from KU Leuven (2020), both magna cum laude. In 2024, he complemented his academic training with a full-stack software development programme, which allows him to combine legal and technical knowledge.

Before joining Beyond in 2026, Hugo practised in a tier-one dispute resolution team of an international law firm and was seconded to Belgium’s largest telecommunications and IT company.

He is also accredited as an intellectual property expert by the Belgian Intellectual Property Office (OPRI, FPS Economy) and carries out IP audits in that capacity under the IP pre-diagnostic scheme for SMEs.

Passionate about entrepreneurship, Hugo always starts with the business behind the legal question and looks for solutions that are pragmatic, actionable and legally sound. He works in French, English and Dutch.
